Fall Barn Sale/ Market Season

Well friends the fall barn sale/market season is fast approaching. So if your looking for unique, one of a kind, artisan gifts, jewelry, art, clothing or home decor, it is time! There are so many of these sales out there now. I wanted to give a personal testament to a few of my favorites. The most logical way to begin seems to be by date.

The first on my faves list is The Strawberry Patch which will be held on September 4-6. The Strawberry Patch or "TSP" as it's come to be called takes place on the beautiful 200 acre Starlite farm in Hartsville, TN. It is said to be the first of it's kind in the world of barn sales. While I can't be absolutely certain of that, I can tell you it is definitely one of the most unique and beautiful. Though I have never been a vendor myself, I have been a shopper on several occasions and the vendors are always top notch. Hand selected by the host Christie Jo, these talented artisans are always a pleasure to see. The setting is as amazing as the goods. So this is one shopping trip you should gather up some friends and head out to experience.

The second on my list of faves is oh so near and dear to my heart♥. Sweet Tea & Shopping will be having their Fall Frenzy September 19th & 20th. This over the top barn sale and market place is where NoBull Vintage started as a "barn sale" vendor. I was blessed beyond words with this event. Sweet Tea & Shopping is always so much more than shopping, it is a family friendly event. It is by far my favorite location of all the sales I've ever shopped or participated in. It is all held at Bottom View farm in Portland, TN. Bottom View farm has a wide range of family activities from ziplines, to a petting zoo of farm animals, fishing, pedal tractors and playgrounds. When you participate in this sale you feel like you're part of a family and there are no better parents than Julia & Micheal. The phenomenal duo are hosts of this massive affair. They do a stellar job putting on this event in what I consider "the little town" on Bottom View Farm. There is always entertainment, food galore, and vendors that are always bringing the latest and greatest in unique high quality, hand made, re-purposed, artisan items. You'll find a massive selection of soaps, clothing, snacks, furniture, home decor, art, and so much more. My entire family LOVES this event and I guarantee you won't leave wanting.

The third on my list is The Hayloft at Port Royal bringing you their fall sale October 2nd - 4th. This sale is always a shoppers paradise. This is not just a great sale for shoppers but for vendors as well. I've actually had people say to me "wow your're doing the Hayloft?" "You're in the big leagues now!" That's a huge compliment to Mrs. Shirley the fabulous, kind, & gracious, host of this spectacular sale. This barn sale is located in Shirley's very own barn in Clarkville, TN and yes some of the vendors are actually located up in the hayloft. This barn is two levels of beautifully stocked and decorated booths. The choice of vendors is always an eclectic & gifted mix of artists and crafters with high quality items to offer. Now, don't eat before you come either. Just come grab a seat at the picnic table and enjoy some good eats while taking in a little musical entertainment. This event is always stocked with talent, food and music. It is a must do this fall! So, load up the car with friends but save some room because you most definitely won't come home empty handed from The Hayloft at Port Royal.

Last on my list but most certainly not least is Sweet Ila Mae's. This sale overlaps with Haylofts weekend but goes on through Sunday so it's October 3rd - 5th. What a great excuse to make this a shopping weekend in October! I love it. This sale was a diamond in the rough for me. It is in Quebeck, TN. Well, if you ain't from there you certainly won't know where it is. When we first arrived I thought "oh me, oh my, what have I gotten in to". Well, I'll tell ya what, pure awesomeness, that's what. Rolling hills of country side, the most tantalizing southern fare, and unique, hand crafted, one of a kind items galore. Sweet Ila Mae's is hosted by two of the sweetest gals you'll ever meet. Rachel & Megan who happen to be sisters to boot. These ladies are the epitome of down home southern hospitality. This barn sale may be a day trip for you as it was for me but I highly recommend you make the trip. I'd even hitch up those trailers because even if you're a window shopper you're sure to find more than one thing you can't live without at Sweet Ila Mae's Barn Sale.

So, even though there are many more excellent sales for you to add to your list these are simply some of my favorites! Sometime the draw for me is the food, sometime the entertainment, sometimes it's location, but It's always the friends I make when visiting any one of these events. If you want more information on other sales in and around Tennessee please feel free to message me of follow me on facebook and We are always posting about local events in the area. Including our very own An Artisan Affair held in June in Murfreesboro, TN. Mark your calendars for these events and don't forget to tell 'em NoBull Vintage sent cha!

Happy shopping ya'll
