Weekend Review

Well you can't keep a good picker down! The hubs and I went out this weekend while the kids stayed with Nana. Our idea of a date night is getting to bed early Friday night so we can get an early pickers start on Saturday morning, and that we did. We hit the ground running at 5:30 am. A stout cup of coffee and we were off. We started on the south side of Murfreesboro and moseyed our way over to Lebanon where we made a long awaited stop at Bella Rustica held this year at Legacy Farms. It was such a joy to see so many familiar vendor faces and some extremely talented new ones. The vendors were fabulous and the patrons came in droves. Even the good ole Tennessee August heat couldn't keep people away.  I met up with a few friends to say hello and attended a friendly blogger lunch. It certainly would not be a mistake if you happened upon dreamingincolor, The Scrap Shoppe, The DIY Village, not just paper and paint, petticoat junktion, or The Country Chic Cottage. These folks are full of talent.
I found many treasures on my journey this weekend. They need lots of work to get them ready for the upcoming events. First stop will be Sweet Tea & Shopping at Bottom View farm in Portlad. I hope to see you all there. Also, please don't forget about An Artisan Affair! Its never to early to help in the fight against cancer.

It's been a long couple of weeks.

Friends, I'd like to begin this post with some reality and end it with something positive. I have spoken many times of An Artisan Affair, the event that will be hosted next June by NoBull Vintage. I have also mentioned that it is and will always be a cancer charity event. What I hadn't mentioned in specifics is that the push to do the event and stop just dreaming about it was when my father in law was diagnosed with a very aggressive B-cell Lymphoma in June of this year. We were assured by doctors that though this was an aggressive cancer it was highly treatable and had a 70% cure rate. Due to many complications my father in law and the greatest man I ever knew, passed away on Monday August 12, 2013. Myself & my family were shocked and devastated.
This may have slowed me down a bit, but I assure you, it has only fueled the fire to make this event the grandest of them all. My dream for this is event is to have all of Nashville and surrounding areas near and far come together to raise awareness, provide support and help find a cure for this miserable disease that steals so many precious people from our lives to soon. If you haven't considered participating in an Artisan Affair yet please do. You can find more information in previous blog post and by visiting Please don't think its too far off to think about. An event such as this takes major time and planning so lets begin now and remember here at Nobull Vintage we believe in "Sharing" so please spread the word!
So, the positive is until cancer is eliminated I will not stop my crusade to bring awareness, be a supporter, and help find a cure. My fire has been fueled.

Friday September 20th from 4pm to 8pm and Saturday September 21st 9am to 4pm. This will be my second time at a Sweet Tea & Shopping event and I must tell you these are incredible vintage market events.Personally I would say this is more festival like. There is food galore, fun things for the children to enjoy and of course all the handmade & repurposed goods to shop.

Next up on the list is another "sweet" this time it's Sweet Ila Mae's this shopping event is put on by two of the "sweetest' gals you'll ever meet and who just happen to be sisters. I know what your thinking where in the world is Quebeck TN but, its not to far and I assure you it is well worth the day trip to see these unique, and exceptionally talented vendors. Truly the best off the best. You definitely won't want to miss out on the original finds here in Clarksville, TN at 551 Port Royal RD.

What, When Who, & How of the ABC Wig Bank

The Charity we have chosen for this years Artisan Affair presented by NoBull Vintage was chosen for many reasons. The first being it had to be cancer related. That will always be the main cause for all of our events. The next was we wanted it to be local. Our hope was to find a local cancer charity that really needed the extra attention as well as the funds. We chose the ABC program and wig bank. Their mission is to offer Hope, Help, & Healing. ABC stands for After Breast Cancer. The YMCA of Middle Tennessee's After Breast Cancer, or ABC, outreach program was created in 1999 to provide such hope, help and healing to breast cancer patients and survivors. They provide a 16-week program, During which participants receive full access to the YMCA and a place to go to receive information, exercise and nutrition guidance and the emotional support they need. The program components are as follows.
Monthly educational seminars: Experts from throughout Middle Tennessee are brought in to address the health and well-being topics most important to breast cancer patients.
Customized exercise program: With the help of a nationally certified YMCA personal trainer, ABC participants receive a customized exercise regimen based on their specific needs. Research has shown that exercise is an important way for women with breast cancer to increase self-esteem, reduce stress and improve their overall fitness. The program also emphasizes flexibility and range of motion, two areas that can change post-surgery.
Nutrition counseling: All ABC participants receive guidance from a registered dietitian to help them make healthy eating choices that can help them during their recovery process.
The Wig Bank available for free to those suffering from hair loss due to chemotherapy or radiation. Wigs will be cut based on your request, free of charge, by one of the experienced stylist from Top of the Block Salon at 314 W Lokey Ave, Murfreesboro, TN 37130. Phone (615) 890-6620.

Here is a link to an article written for the Murfreesboro pulse about how the Wig Bank got started This article explains in detail the people behind the wig bank as well as its purpose.

I hope this helps elaborate on what the ABC wig bank is. Though Nobull Vintages' Artisan Affair will also have other smaller cancer charities benefitting from our event the ABC wig bank with be the benefactor of all major charitable donations and our silent auction.

Please visit to read more about the event and download vendor applications. We are still in need of  artisans, musicians, celebrities, business sponsors, food truck vendors and more. Please help us spread the word.
