How it all started.

Man oh man! My life is always chaotic. Thank goodness I thrive in chaos. I have been artistic and crafty my entire life. I was drawing and painting things on walls when I was in elementary school. In high school I began writing and had a few short poems published. I was born into music continued it in high school, played in a few bands after graduation and hand many a writing sessions during that time. Music is definitely a part of who Tilina & NoBull Vintage are. I married my high school sweetheart in 1996.  While working and going to college we were not rich so on many occasions we would go junkin and find things that I could restore and repurpose and use in our home. Three kids and a lifetime later, we still aren't rich and we've bought an old farm house that has to be gutted and restored.  I was laid off last year and something I'd always done out of necessity and enjoyment has become my full time endeavor. Not only has it become full time but I have also found a way to incorporate my love of philanthropy into this amazing world of barn sales and open air markets.
It really all started for me when I was invited to Sweet Tea & Shoppings Spring market in 2012 by Julia T. Proctor. This was my first adventure into this antique, vintage, handmade, homemade, restored, repurposed, market place of treasures. I had no idea I was not alone in my chaos. It is true artistic minds think alike and I was overjoyed to be a part of something so fantastic. This was a world of unique, original items were people took pride in hard work. I had never seen anything like it. The vendors at theses shows are high on integrity and have passion and creativity pouring out of their booths. It was so inspiring I was moved to tears. I felt like I was part of something bigger than I had ever imagined. After that I set forth on a new path. Attending The Hayloft Barn Sale, Tinsel & Twine open air market and Sweet Ila Mae's. Each time learning, growing, and meeting new and incredible people. This is definitely an adventure I enjoy and a wonderful way to share my creativity with others. Thank You to all who inspire and support these efforts, it truly is a beautiful thing.

Lets start with the NOW!

My name is Tilina Hill I am NoBull Vintage. I wish I would have begun this blog when my journey as NoBull Vintage began. Everything just seemed to happen so fast. Now, here I am today beginning another amazing adventure, an adventure I just had to share. So, though in future post I will have flashbacks of all the other adventures I’ve had prior, today I will begin with NOW. On July 24, 2013 NoBull Vintage sealed the venue for An Artisan Affair. This will be a cancer charity shopping extravaganza!
NoBull Vintages Artisan Affair is a tangled web of dreams and ideas I’ve had for many years. I’ve taken my passion for charity which is cancer awareness, prevention, & support and my career in creativity and molded it into one Artisan Affair. Inspired by vintage markets, craft fairs & barn sales like Sweet Tea & Shopping, The Hayloft Barn Sale, Sweet Ila Mae’s, & Bella Rustica. I began to embellish my garage sale for charity & my love of art, furniture, food & everything vintage into a beautiful shopping event to remember. This will all take place at the amazingly beautiful Tree of Life event space in Smyrna, TN. (treeoflifeventspace.com) This will be a juried event, meaning all vendors will be carefully selected to bring to you the highest standards of vintage, antique, homemade, handmade and repurposed items from furniture & art to jewelry & apparel. There will be live music, lawn games, food vendors, & a silent auction. NoBull Vintage plans to make its Artisan Affair a family event that will not only bring communities and families together for fun but, also raise money for a great cause. Cancer touches everyone. It knows no boundaries. It has no prejudice for age or race. This is my way to fight back. Won't you please fight with me? More details coming soon!
If you have any questions or are interested in being a vendor, feel free to email me NoBullT@gmail.com and follow Nobull Vintage here and on Facebook for up to date details of this upcoming event.
